Activities & Tours
If your idea of relaxation is to simply lounge around the resort and enjoy the grounds, we suggest a dip in our beautiful fresh water swimming pool. Journey’s End is also the perfect Belize hotel resort for adults and kids to enjoy the warm Caribbean waters. This unbelievable Belize resort is blessed with a beautiful white sand beach to sunbathe and shallow wading area to cool off.

We suggest you reserve your adventures in advance in order to guarantee you the best experience possible, however if you chose to reserve while at the resort our staff will be more than happy to provide you with all the information you'll need. They'll even book your tour and arrange to have you depart right from our docks. Below you'll find a handful of the tours available. Private tours are available as well.

WATER TOURS
Bacalar Chico Maya Channel Adventure: Travel north by boat near the Belize/Mexico border. Snorkel, swim and enjoy a fresh lunch prepared on the boat. On this guided tour of Bacalar Chico Nature Reserve, you will see birds, fish and underwater caverns. Experience an ancient Maya mangrove canal and then troll past famous Rocky Point fishing grounds on the way home.

Manatee Safari: Travel by boat to Belize’s only manatee preserve then snorkel and swim off a beautiful, isolated island and enjoy a relaxing picnic
lunch. Two other exciting snorkel stops included and time permitting, a stop at neighboring Caye Caulker. Lunch, beer and soft drinks included. Bring snorkel gear.

Sail & Snorkel Caye Caulker: Sail aboard the “Me Too, ” a 36ft. McGregor Catamaran. Snorkel the sites with the most prolific fish life on the reef: Hol Chan Reserve and Shark Ray Alley. Enjoy lunch and a stroll through the lobster fishing village of Caye Caulker. Rum punch, beer and soft drinks included. Bring snorkel gear, lunch money and Hol Chan park entrance fee.

Lagoon Kayak Tour: Join one of our trained staff members for a lagoon kayak tour behind the property. It’s common for guests to catch a glimpse of crocodiles, juvenile fish populations and a variety of rare birds endemic to Belize. The canopied canal ways leading from lagoon to lagoon serve up orchids, termite nests and a host of other interesting sights.

FISHING
Reef & Flats Fishing - (1/2 day or Full Day): For full days of organized fishing we recommend that guests hire a guide and visit the many of offshore and flats areas. However, if you would simply like to walk the beach in front of the property you will find many opportunities to catch bonefish and permit on your own. The Journey’s End dock and the dive shop dock offer some fun fishing as well for small snapper, barracuda and other assorted reef fish. Don’t forget about the lagoon for fishing too. You can either fish off of the kayak dock or paddle back into some of the small islands just a few minutes away and catch an assortment of fish. Rental rods and tackle are available.

Flats Fishing - (1/2 day or Full day): The flats of Belize are considered to be some of the best saltwater fishing grounds in the world. If you’re looking to hook into bonefish, permit tarpon and snook, this is the place to be. Local guides will take you to the best areas and put you on top of the fish – then it’s up to you. Guides are only marginally equipped with gear and or tackle so plan on bringing your own. ORVIS fly fishing rental gear and flies are available at our tour office.

Reef Fishing: Travel out on the second largest barrier reef in the world with an experienced local fisherman in search of today’s local catch. The assortment of fish caught might include snapper, grouper, jacks, barracuda or who knows what! Your guide will bring along bait and an ice chest with water. You bring the rod, reel and tackle.

SNORKELING TOURS
Snorkeling can be done either right in front of the property or out on the reef. Load your gear on a kayak, paddle out about 12 minutes to the reef and tie up to one of our mooring balls. You can snorkel in 3-6 feet of water until your heard is content.

Mexico Rocks Snorkeling: This is an extensive patch reef system with the greatest coral and sponge diversity in all of Belize. There is also a 40-year old pontoon wreck and an underwater cave at Mexico Rocks.

Caye Caulker Snorkel: Visit the Bohemian island of Caye Caulker and experience the people. It is only a short distance away but a world apart.

SCUBA DIVING
Diving & Snorkeling 2 tank dive: Please visit our on-site dive shop for information, scheduling & renting gear. The dive shop opens at 8:00am and usually closes around 5:00pm. Hol Chan Park: The Hol Chan Marine Park (Hol Chan is Mayan for Little Channel) is situated north of Caye Caulker.

Declared the first marine park in the entire country of Belize, this area has been zone a protected area. Due to its protected status, what was once a depleted fishing area has now been allowed to re-generate, producing for divers and snorkelers alike quite a colorful and varied fish spectacle. You will see rays, sharks, and other marine life during this trip.
Blue Hole Dives: Day trip to the Blue Hole including three spectacular dives, one in the Blue Hole, up to 130 ft. are included. Six miles north of Halfmoon Caye, in the lagoon of Lighthouse Atoll, is the Great Blue Hole. The name alone will make it different from some of the other "blue holes" to be found in the Caribbean. This one is the largest, deepest, and most famous. Thousands of divers have made it the reason they have come to dive in Belize.
Diving at The Elbow: One of the 70 dive sites waiting to be sampled at Turneffe is the "Elbow", located on the extreme southern end of the atoll. With a 3,000-foot wall and some converging currents filled with nutrients this can be one of the most exciting dives anyone can do in the Caribbean.
MAINLAND TOURS
Actun Tunichil Mucknal - (Air): Fly into Belize City and travel by van to the Roaring Creek River Valley. There you will hike through the lush tropical rainforest and swim through pristine rivers. Actun Tunichil Mucknal is Belize’s premier cave featuring amazing geological features, ancient artifacts, burials and sacrificial alters. Bring extra clothes, hiking shoes and a swimsuit. Lunch and soft drinks included.

Altun Ha Maya Ruins: Travel south around Ambergris Caye and north to the village of Bomba. View orchids, water birds and an occasional crocodile. From Bomba, you travel by van 12 miles to the site of Altun Ha Maya for "Rockstone Pond". Altun Ha is one of Belize's smallest archeological sites with its tallest structure being 60 ft. high. Bring along comfortable wearing apparel, shoes that will not slip, your binoculars, camera and sum block.

Cave Tubing and Belize Zoo: A transfer from Belize City on the Western Highway brings you to the Caves Branch River and its winding path through the Maya Mountains and numerous ancient caves once inhabited by the Maya. You will ne transported back in time as you float down this river! Upon arriving at Jaguar Paw, be prepared for a 45-minute jungle trail hike. Your guide will point out various plants, roots and herbs once used by the ancient Maya. After lunch you will make a stop at The Belize Zoo, home to an impressive array of large cats, primates, reptiles and birds. This habitat gives you the opportunity of viewing Belize’s prolific wildlife in one location.
Lamanai Maya Ruins Boat - (Air): Lamanai or “submerged crocodile” is one of the most mystical sites you can visit while in Belize. Depart by boat, head up a mainland river, grab a van ride to Sugar City, jump on another boat and see Orange Walk. Visit the museum and hike into the jungle where you’ll discover the Ancient Maya ruins of Lamanai. Bring along comfortable wearing apparel, shoes that will not slip, binoculars, camera and sun block.

Mountain Pine Ridge: The geology of the Mountain Pine Ridge is dominated by massive uplifting of ancient rock. These rocks are among the oldest formations in the Americas. Some geologists theorize that when the sea covered the entire Central American isthmus, only the Mountain Pine Ridge region lay exposed as an island.
Tikal Ruins: This is undoubtedly the most researched and excavated Maya ruin site throughout Central America. The trip takes you from Belize into the jungle regions of Guatemala where you will have the opportunity to study the extensive archaeological sites continuously being uncovered. This trip can also be offered as an overnight trip by land that gives you more time to enjoy these incredible ruins. Bring hiking shoes, sunscreen and your camera.

Xunantunich Maya Ruins: Xunantunich “Stone Lady”, is an impressive archeological site with its tallest structure rising 130ft. above the jungle canopy. After traveling back to the mainland you’ll see rolling hills, winding rivers and the ancient land of the Maya. This tour will help enhance your understanding of the Maya while enjoying the rich history of this center. Bring extra clothes, hiking shoes & swimsuit. Lunch and soft drinks included.
